Would the United States use a drone to kill an American citizen on American soil? This seems to be a question that neither President Obama nor John Brennan, nominee for Director of CIA will answer with a 'no.' Instead the response Brennan gave, was, "no intention to do so."
During Questioning, Senator Rand Paul asked, "Do you believe that the President has the authority to order lethal force, such as a drone strike, against a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil, and without a trial?", "I believe the only acceptable answer is no." Paul explained that he could not get a no answer from Obama nor Brennan. The lack of a NO answer is scary.
Concerned that we could be moving into leadership that would consider such an attack on an American citizen, I contacted Kansas Senators Roberts and Moran today. Neither of these Senators have released a statement nor have they made a decision on how they will vote. When their aid asked me if there was a message I would like to pass on to to the Senators, I told them that I expected a NO vote as long as this nominee would not agree to follow our Constitution.
Once again, we see the Obama administration being less than transparent. Please contact your Senators and tell them that you expect a clear answer from Brennan or a NO vote on his confirmation.
Senate Republicans should put these nominees on hold until clear answers are given.

The Second Amendment Protection is an extremely important bill for our liberties in Kansas. This is one of the most critical of all bills in Topeka this session. We must protect the second amendment and we need your help to do it.

A newspaper in New York has received a wave of criticism from its readers after publishing the names and addresses of all of the individuals with handgun or pistol permits in its coverage area.

Hundreds of residents in New York’s Westchester and Rockland counties were surprised to find their names and addresses listed on a map posted by The Journal News on Sunday. Users can click any dot on the map to see which of their neighbors has a permit for a gun.

The map sparked more than 500 comments from readers within a day of its appearance on the website, many of them voicing outrage at the paper’s decision to make the information public.
“This is CRAZY!! why in the world would you post every licensed gun owner information?? What do you hope to accomplish by doing this. This is the type of thing you do for sex offenders not law abiding gun owners. What next? should i hang a flag outside my house that says I own a gun? I am canceling my subscription with your paper today!!!” said commenter Curtis Maenza.

The closed-door negotiations over taxes and spending known as the “fiscal cliff” are doomed to fail even if they succeed. The reason: both sides are relying on their own false premise on how to narrow the massive imbalance between the revenues of the federal government and what it plans to spend over the next 10 years.

The false premise championed by President Barack Obama and his fellow Democrats is higher tax rates on “the rich” are the key to fiscal balance.
